Thankful Projects - Prima + Gelli Arts

Happy Thanksgiving, to those who celebrate!!
As always, we have so much to be thankful for this year. Mostly, I try to remind myself to be thankful not only for all that I have, but also for all of the "little moments" that make our lives so wonderful! I really try to focus on the simple things each day and remember to thank God for them each night.
Prima is teaming up with Gelli Arts and a few of us got to work with their Gel Printing Plate! Also, they are having an awesome giveaway, you can enter until December 5th...check it out, here.
This was way out of my comfort zone, and it definitely took a bit to get the hang of it. But once I did, I pulled some really awesome prints!
I decided I wanted to print on the Chalkboard Notecards from the Everyday Vintage line..I love how the hot pink and turquoise stood out against the black.

I pulled prints on a handful of the chalkboard cards, using a Prima stencil,  and layered them as my background, as well as using one of them as part of my title.

I also made a Thanks card, using the ghost prints - which are the second, lighter prints off of the plate. These are harder to see because I layered a whole bunch of them.

"Create Memories" *Blue Fern Studios* Plus - BFS 2014 DT Announced!

Happy Saturday!
I hope your weekend is going well so far :)
Today is a wonderful day for a group of very special, and talented ladies!
The 2014 Blue Fern Studios Design Team has been announced!! You can see the announcement, here
I am happy to be staying on for another year. I absolutely adore Blue Fern and their top of the line, unique, beautiful designs.
Speaking is the second page from my post on their blog the other day..

"Create Memories"

On this one, I have used various "circle" pieces....including Broken Circles, Mini Rings Panel, and the Blue Fern Bits resulting from these pieces. I used one of the strips of circles to mask/stamp on the background. I then added in the little bits of circles, along with larger ones which were embossed first for fun texture. For the gorgeous pinks and yellow, I sprayed with Shimmerz Vibez in RazzleDazzle Berry, and Spritz in Chick A Dee. I totally love these colors together!

Tucked below my photo I added pieces of the Mini Rings Panel which I had simply covered in black ink. I love using chalk ink on chipboard for a full coverage effect without the need to prime first!
I added a bit of embossing with Shimmerz Enamelz (discontinued) and again painted them with the mists mentioned above.
The papers used are Prima's Sunrise Sunset collection. I have used this collection a TON in the past couple of months, I love it, it works so nicely for everything!

"Perfect" *Blue Fern Studios*

Good morning, everyone!
Today is my day on the Blue Fern Studios blog...I have two pages up, check them out if you'd like, here.
I have been playing with some of the newest chipboard designs...they are really awesome!

I started this page by layering strips of paper with pieces of the Checker Bits. The chipboard was left partially bare but with a bit of chalk ink, followed by a brushing of a metallic ink. The background was created layering scraps of paper atop one of the Prima Sunrise Sunset papers. I have used Shimmerz in Aquamarine, Vibez in Chickadee, and Princess.

Next I added in a couple of the Circle Links to create a unique page design. These pieces were simply brushed with a silver metallic ink, as well. All of the flowers, clocks, and sugar dot stickers are Prima, as well.

Autumnal Bliss - MMM Kit - Part 2 with Kelly

Hello everyone!
I have another project to share using the brand new Magnifique Mixed Media kit, Autumnal Bliss.
The kit sold out quick, but will be back in stock very soon!! Lucky you - if you missed out, this is your chance!!

"You Are So Beautiful"

I had a lot of fun playing with the Crafter's Workshop Mini Ceiling Tile stencil for the kit. I based my page with 7 Dots Studio - 9th Wave paper, and played with the stencil and all of the various media from the kit. I just kept stenciling, flipping, and stamping until I got the look I wanted. I used a watercolor pencil to add definition to the stencilled areas here and tehre.

With such a busy background, I kept the rest of the page fairly simple, with just a few sweet little embellishments from the kit, and a couple of paper and canvas banner/traingle pieces from my stash.

Thank you so much for having a peek! And for all of those who have already subscribed to the kit - wondeful!!!!
Keep an eye out in the store for a restock of the Autumnal Bliss kit.

"I Love This So Much" - Prima PPP

Good day!
How is your week so far?
It is getting very cold here, and I am just not loving that.
Other than that? I can't complain.

There is a new Prima Product Picks (PPP) challenge for this month from Prima..choose either the color palette orthe products shown for your inspiration, and play along with us for your chance to win some Prima goodies!
Link up your projects, and find more inspiration from the DT here.

2013 November PPP

Such a luscious fall palette...I just love it!
Here is what I created:

"I Love This So Much"

The background, is something I have done before, and you can find the video tutorial here:
My Rock Wall Background Tutorial
The only difference here, is I used two different colors of the embossing enamel. I also used Shimmerz Spritz in Truffle and Treasured Hymn, and added some shading with a Prima Chalk Edger - Branch Bark.

One tip, for making your photo "pop" when working with a color challenge: choose a photo that includes a color that is not in the color palette, but still coordinates. You see there is a bit of bright yellow in my photo, but most of the other colors match the palette. Due to this, the focus stays on the bright photo!

You Shine! Blue Fern Studios Sketch Challenge

Hello friends!
Another weekend, another month - the time escapes faster and faster these days!
I don't know if it is the changing seasons, or what, but I am feeling particularly unorganized the past few weeks...
I usually have my blog photos edited, uploaded, and posts scheduled ahead of time,
all prepared so there is no scramble...not so much today - lol - but I will catch up soon, (I hope!)
Anyway - I wanted to share with you the new sketch challenge for November over at Blue Fern Studios.

"You Shine!"

Ok so this page...hmmm. Well, what I am struggling with, is that photo of Paisley, on the page, looks so much better in real life. For some reason it photographed a little fuzzy and it's bugging me! Maybe something I am noticing that no one else would? I am a little OCD about my photos so if it is "off" It bugs me!
Oh well, she is cute, anyway..

I stuck pretty close to the stunning sketch...just moved the title up..

This title is from the Optimist Word Set, I simply added a little pearl blue embossing powder. Behind that is one of the Quatrefoil Garden Panels.
The papers I used are neutral (B sides) of the Prima AllStar collection. I went a little grungy on this one with lots of drips, stamps, torn papers, wire, staples, etc..I used lots of Shimmerz for the background, to create the drips. As I made this, I realized...that is not something I do often on my pages, but I think I like how it turned out.

Below, some gorgeous Prima blooms, Natural Bark Pieces, a sweet Ingvild Bolme Resin, Prima Brad..and that sweet little chipboard camera is from the Picture Perfect set.

Lastly..the beautiful Spring Branch, as featured on the gorgeous. I added just a touch of Shimmerz Pearlz Green With Envy to the leaves, a bit of stamping, and it was done!
