(Kelly) LOTS of projects!! I've been "cheating"..

*This is my second post for today, I'd love it if you would scroll down :)*

Got your attention, didn't I? Well, truth is, I've been having a bit of an affair. Some of you may know, as I've mentioned it from time to time, I have taken up sewing recently. Scrapbooking is no longer my only love, although it will always be my first! ;) I also have been dabbling in some off the page projects. Thanks to this wonderful thing we call the internet, and an even more wonderful thing called Pinterest, I am continuously feeling this overwhelming urge to create!!! I have a bucket list of projects a mile long, and only so much time!
Sewing is something I have wanted to learn for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to just jump in and figure it out!! I have made a couple of quilts, and a couple of dresses, and I am so proud of myself! It's still very challenging for me, and it doesn't come easy to me the way scrapbooking did, but I'm loving the challenge, and the awesome feeling I get once I've created something beautiful.
I will first show you a layout I made, with photos of Lilah in the very first dress I made. I used the sketch over at ScrapFIT for inspiration. Keep scrolling down after the layout and I have  few more goodies to show you!
I used scraps of fabric, thread, and ribbon from the dress to make the colors match perfectly!

Here's a the dress I finished last night, for Lilah's 2nd Birthday party. I am really happy with this one! I used a pattern for the first time, if you're interested, you can find it here at HaileyBug'sCloset on Etsy.

Here's a little pillowcase dress I made for Erin's little girl, Aspen. I based it off of this tutorial.

Another Pinterest inspired project, inspired by this pin. This hangs above Paisley's bed :)

...and (gasp!) even a a couple of cards!! Yes, I'm doing something I never thought I'd do, and loving it!

Thanks for enduring my suuuuppper long post, have a great day!!!

Love the dresses. I too have been having an affair with sewing, not with as much success as you and I come from a family of professional dress makers, lol. I bought a cheap sewing machine to use for scrapping, but it keeps calling out to sew fabric, what could I do?

WOW!!!!
You are super talented girl! Sewing is something that I would LOVE to learn. My mom used to sew all our dresses (me and my 4 sisters) when I was little. It's all so lovely.
There are so many sweet details on your layout. It's fantastic!!
Cheers!

Kelly, so glad you're learning to sew. I have sewn for more than 50 years and have loved sewing especially for little girls and making formal gowns (think wedding) for family members. I really love the pink/green sundress you've made for Lilah. I wonder how it would have been to have had the internet, Pinterest, blogs, etc. when I was learning to sew.

Kelly, I am so impressed with the dresses you've made, I tried that when Analise was little, I thought if I can do quilts, I can do a dress, complete disaster!!! under the arms was a mess, omg the whole thing really bad, yours are great! the cards are so pretty, isn't it fun to make something small when you don't have a lot of time but want to create, and your layout, just fab!!
