But today, I'm really going to try! I'm going to be patient! We're going to achieve a stress-free day if it kills us!
SO- in order to accomplish that, I need to get this post complete, which is never an easy task with little kids. My two boys fight constantly it seems! The younger always taking things from the older, which makes the older turn into the world's biggest spazz ball, lol...but I remember how much I hated to share, so how can I blame him?
And there I go, getting sidetracked...
What I'm really here for is to share a couple of things with you! I do have a big announcement, which I will reveal at the end of this post, as first I want to share a layout I created for Scrap for Help. This is a site that I've been admittedly stalking for a while and always mean to participate- and then my month gets so busy...so I made them a priority this month. The challenge is to use "old metal" on a layout. So I started searching the house and in my "junk drawer" as I call it (basically the place where all the random stuff without a home goes), I found a little baggie of metal things- I think they were meant for making earrings or something. Quite ugly, I might add- gold (but not real gold), and well...I can see why they were thrown in the junk drawer! But it was the first metal thing I found and figured I could alter them and put them to work somewhere...
And then I got to work. I was one of the lucky winners of the "Girl Land" collection by Webster's Pages in their recent blog hop, and I received the beautiful package in the mail a few days back. The colors are gorgeous- but bright, which I sometimes shy away from. I started this layout and just about threw it in the garbage, but then I decided to leave it alone for a bit and went back to it- and finished! So here it is:
I covered them with a thick coat of gesso and added some Perfect Pearls & bling.
Here's another one of those earrings.
Now...on to the ANNOUNCEMENT! As you probably know, I've long been a follower and fan of Once Upon A...Sketch. Almost a year ago I found them and have participated in almost every challenge since the discovery. Then Kelly started participating and she too was hooked. And now we've BOTH been invited to join the team there, alongside an incredible hoard of talent for an entire year!!
To check out the rest of the lucky designers, see the post over at OUAS here!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and wading through my extra-lengthy post! I'm off now to have a great day with the kids (or so I hope!!)~
Take care of you :)
