(Erin) Stuck?! May 15th Sketch & Prima Tag

**Please note: Thanks to my friend and fellow Scrap FX teammie Michelle Hernandez- and her amazing technical wisdom- we've added some new ways in which you can follow our blog! I had no idea with the new Blogger format that people using Wordpress, Typepad, etc. could no longer follow us- so we've added to our sidebar on the right a couple new formats to try out. THANK-you, Michelle!!**

Hi there! For some reason, my computer is being terribly slow tonight so it'll be a miracle if I even get this post completed! But I'm off to try anyway...

Today I decided to tackle the May 15th sketch over at Stuck?!. And generally speaking, though I do tend to take sketches in my own direction, they usually end up looking somewhat like the sketch. This one, however- lol, I can't tell you what happened other than creativity took over and what I ended up with looks pretty UNlike the sketch. I truthfully started out with a landscape photo (as the sketch suggested), but after deciding to use the "Everyday Poetry" collection from Webster's Pages for my layout- and some fussy cutting took charge- much of my photo got hidden by the arched doorway that I used as a frame. And pretty much...after that...everything just took its own direction.

But it's okay though- I'm pleased with the result...although I must say that I'm a bit conflicted about my style currently. This happens every once in a while, when I go back and forth between different styles based on the different assignments at hand- and then suddenly I'm lost and can't remember what I was to begin with! And though I feel this layout is very pretty, I also feel like it's too "clean"- do you know what I mean? Or am I just crazy?- wait- don't answer that, lol! Aarrrghh, just ignore me- I'll get myself figured out here again soon enough...

Here's my page...

"Happy Day"
This is another photo of my sweet little Gunner on Mother's Day. Do you ever have one of those days where one of your kids photograph so much better than the others? I got like zero photos of Aspen on this day (she napped almost the whole time we were out), a few really great ones of my Wyatt- but he was on his 4-wheeler most of the time...but Gunner- I have a TON of him from this day, mostly because he was with us, watching his older brother ride and otherwise running around exploring. And there I was- Mamarazzi- chasing him down with the camera!

Anyhow, I have a few close-ups to share, too...

I have really fallen in love with the colors in this collection! I remember feeling uncertain at first, but now after working with it a bit I must say I'm in looove!!!

Before I go, I also wanted to share with you a tag I whipped up the other night, after failing an attempt at a different project and refusing to put my stuff away for the evening without getting something accomplished! I grabbed the Prima "Meadow Lark" range which I haven't touched for a couple months now- and came up with this cute little piece:
But...it's my bedtime. Here's hoping auto post works out for me- it's been pretty successful as of late, but with Blogger, you really never know lol...
G'night and take care :),
xErin

Visiting your blog and seeing what you and Kelly create makes me want to drop everything and go make something!! Your projects are always so inspiring and gorgeous, I think this layout is you, and it's good to try new things, keeps it fun! LOVE that tag! I went tag crazy the other night and ended up putting them all on a layout, we were thinking alike with the tag making...:)

Erin, if you mean clean by no misting or painting, then I think this one is still fabulous!! Your focus goes right to the flower clustering, because it's so pretty and I love the little design on the background paper. So, I think you still definitely have a winner with this one!! :)
