Good morning and Happy Easter! It's Easter Sunday today for us here and it's quite early...of course, the kids were out of bed before the sun and I'm making sure they get to wait a good while before I set them off on the hunt for all their goodies...
I meant to get this layout posted last night but it got so late and so here I am.
C'est Magnifique Kits is sponsoring Once Upon A...Sketch this month and each of us on the design team were asked to each create a layout for the current challenge there, which is "Home".
For me, home is most definitely wherever my family is. I do hope that the home we currently live in will always be our home, but you never really do know...many of you know already the way we choose to live without running water, sewer, TV, cell phones, etc.- you've heard the story. And many think we are crazy to live as we do...but when we made the decision to move here, to a place where we knew we'd be happier despite all we would have to live without, many people (especially my hubby's family) questioned WHY we would do such a thing- make a conscious decision to do what some might consider crazy. Yet no matter how we explain it to them, it never seems to make any sense in their minds...they are the ones who don't understand the true meaning of "family"...that it doesn't matter WHERE you are or WHAT you have (or don't have)~ but that you have each other. And although our lives may be a little more difficult in some ways than it is for others, we know it won't be this way forever, that is will shape my children into stronger and more self efficient individuals, it will make me appreciate that running water when we get it someday...and that, at the end of the day, I'm so fortunate to have my beautiful family with me :).
Here is my layout, using the amazing March kit from C'est Magnifique, featuring fabulous papers from Pion Design:
Based on this lovely sketch by Nadia Cannizzo:

My hidden journaling:
Thank-you so much for taking the time out of your day to stop by. I do hope you have (and for those of you on the other side of the world- had) a blessed Easter Sunday. I got most of my food prep done yesterday- cupcakes, angel food cake, pumpkin pie- just need to get the raspberry sauce made for the angel food, make an apple pie, and throw the ham in the oven...I hope you have a beautiful day- take the time to enjoy your families, and appreciate the true meaning of Easter :)~

Hope you had a very Happy Easter! I love the borders & sparkly flowers. As always you are an inspiration.
Yes, Erin, I wholeheartedly agree with how you portrayed home in your LO. It's not about a building, big or small, fancy or humble, but it's all about the people we love so dearly. We can always have home in our hearts. I do love your gorgeous LO.
