I keep thinking I won't get any more scrapbooking done before my baby is due, but over the course of the last few days I was able to put this one together. I was excited to find a single landscape photo sketch so I could scrap this picture of Gunner & Lilah. I just love the moment captured here- so sweet and innocent! Creative Scrappers sketch #170.

Well, another week has gone by with no scrapping...I'm a week away from my due date and getting ready for the baby has really consumed my time...not to mention the fact that Gunner has strept throat and Wyatt has been more than a handful as of late. But I always like to play along with Sketchy Thursdays so I knew I needed to get this one done. I just love these close-ups of Gunner taken this spring and have been looking for just the right way to scrap them. Glad this sketch came along so I could do it!

Good morning!! It's time again for Sketch Along Tuesdays over at Frosted Designs! The sketch is another fun one from Karin. We both saw the large, scalloped shape in the sketch as a challenge, and we both ended up switching it up a bit to suit our layouts! We hope you'll head on over and play along with us!

I was supposed to be a part of the blog hop that Amanda over at Love Joy Paper set up with a bunch of the CK girls, but due to some craziness in life, was not able to. I had made my layout weeks ago, and here it is! I took the picture with terrible lighting, but nevertheless wanted to get this up so I could enter it! I will take a better photo tommorow, as this one really does not due my layout justice!

I've taken a week off of scrapbooking as I've been busy with lots of berry picking, canning, taking care of the kids, being 37 weeks pregnant (!), and adjusting to Josh being gone more with bear baiting/hunting season beginning. I knew I really wanted to do this Sketchy Thursdays sketch and after starting it yesterday, I finally finished it today. It's always tough for me to do a layout after taking a break, but I'm actually happy with how this one turned out. It has a lot of dimension and texture, which I love! Thanks for taking a look~

Here is a layout I made using Sketchy Thursdays, 8.4 sketch, and inspired by WWU #11 over at ScrapFIT, the challenge is to use flowers in any way on your layout. Well, I thought these photos were perfect for a layout incorporating flowers. There are flowers in the photos, flower patterned paper, and a cluster of flowers! We recently visited the Rose Garden here, and I fell in love with the yellow roses. Not only is yellow my favorite color, but they were thick with gorgeous blooms, just perfect looking. Lilah seemed to like them, too, must take after her mama!

I used this great new sketch over at The Scrappiest #132 to complete this layout for the Club CK challenge to use woodgrain or nature accents on a layout. I was glad to find a way to scrap this photo of Gunner on his first little trip back to the moose pond this last spring. Of course he was mostly just interested in putting rocks in his mouth!
Good morning!! It's Tuesday, so that means another great Sketch Along Tuesdays challenge over at Frosted Designs! This is another sketch from Karin, and it's an awesome one! Definitely go check it! The prize is pretty awesome, too, the August kit from Artful Delight.
Here is the sketch:
Here is what Erin came up with:
And here is Kelly's take:
This is my take on this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch 8.4. These picture of Wyatt from last winter are a couple of my favorites and when I originally went to scrap them months ago, I made the mistake of cutting them down and rounding the corners~ and then never used them. But this sketch worked out perfectly for these two photo, enabling me to cut them down and get rid of the round corners so I could document this habit of his. He always manages to find the bungee cords (or "straps" as he calls them), no matter how well we try to hide them, and loves hooking them up to the four wheeler, his wagon, his toys, the trailer- whatever. This particular day I caught him with about every cord we had hooked up to the back of the four wheeler. I just love the "what's the big deal?" look on his face in the one photo!

I did my first layout in a long time without a sketch for the Get Picky inspiration challenge #10. I love using sketches so when I occassionally go to make a layout without one, it always seems to take me awhile. But I really like how this page turned out. I have made a lot of pages lately since my little Gunner turned 1 year old, so I felt like journaling on this page was somewhat unnecessary. The last several have recorded my thoughts and feelings about him turning a year, so I didn't feel the need to repeat myself on this one. The pictures and the title seem to say it all~ my baby boy is now a little boy, whether I like it or not. That's the amazing thing about life; it just keeps going, we keep growing, time keeps ticking...it's just milestones like birthdays, especially our childrens' birthdays, that remind us of it. Definitely bittersweet...
Erin introduced me to a wonderful sketch site, Once Upon A Sketch. The August 1st challenge was so very inspiring! They provide a sketch, and journaling criteria. The criteria was: Finish this line "A PERFECT DAY IS....." . Your journalling has to be at least 2 lines long, and with the theme of a whatever a perfect day for you is or a perfect day that you have had already e.g. a birthday, a holiday, a childhood memory, a wedding day, graduation day etc. Your journalling can be ANY type : handwritten, typed, etc...So, here is what I came up with! The photo is of a day spent by the lake, the 3 of us as a family. (I'm not in the photo, I was behind the camera as usual) The journaling reads: A perfect day, to me, is spent with Jeremy & Lilah, by the lake, in the sunshine. We don't get a lot of days just the 3 of us, so days like this one are extra special! June, 12th 2011. I am also entering this for Scrapbook Circle's "circle" challenge, because that's where these wonderful papers and elements came from!

Here's a layout I made today, using Artful Delight's August sketch. I decided to rotate the sketch to work with my landscape picture. The sketch was nice and simple, so I kept my layout simple as well. This photo is of Lilah checking out the roses at the Rose Garden here in Duluth a couple weeks ago.

Here is a layout I made in about 20 minutes, I'm not really in love with it, but I made it for the One hour challenge over at ClubCK, which was to use horizontal stripes on a layout. I always try to have a sketch handy for these challenges, and this time I chose Sketch #167 from Creative Scrappers. I'm so in love with this sketch, there are so many different possibilities here. This is one I think I will use again for sure! This layout is a lot more simple than my usual style, but I think it works.

Here is a multi-tasker, I made this layout inspired by sketch #131 over at The Scrappiest (See the sketch in Erin's post below, and check out her take on it, too!) I also made this for Workout #49 "Put a banner on it" over at Scrapfit. I love the fabric banner I made for my title. Thanks for looking!
I was just visiting Scrap Jacked (one of the new blogs I discovered last month) and found my "Childhood" layout was chosen as one of their "Grinners"! Basically what they do is choose three winners for their prizes and then highlight some honorable mentions, or "grinners". See the post here.
My husband recently took this photo of Gunner (which is amazing as he almost NEVER picks up the camera) and I just love it! I thought it fit perfectly in this sketch #131 from The Scrappiest. I've had this "enjoy" transparency from Glitz for forever and was so glad to be able to finally use it. Really loving how this page turned out and so glad that I could preserve this innocent and sweet photo of my little boy...

Once Upon A...Sketch has yet another great sketch and challenge out right now. The journaling prompt was to finish the sentence "A perfect day is..." and include at least two sentences. I adore this picture of my husband and Gunner in the lake. For me, a perfect day is watching my kids spend time with their amazing father. After losing my own dad when I was 13, I know just how lucky they are to have him. He is incredible!
I took these pictures about a week ago of Wyatt and his usual crazy accessorizing. I was looking back through my photo albums and have so many pictures throughout his life of him and his love for mismatching the strangest things! And he can't even get mad at me later on for taking his picture- he always insists on it!! I used Sassy Little Sketches 7.28.11 sketch for this layout. TFL!!
Good morning!! Just sharing a layout I threw together last night, inspired by the latest Sassy Lil' Sketches sketch. These are some random photos taken throughout the first year of Lilah's life, which of course went by super fast. The journaling reads: People always say "kids grow so fast!" You don't really understand it completely until you watch the rapid changes, and celebrate each milestone, and then look back over he past year and ask.."Where did my tiny little baby go?"

These pictures of my younger son Gunner so reminded me of such a typical guy! He got up from his afternoon nap and I gave him a cup of milk and set him on the couch. He proceeded to lazily slouch down and chug his milk, stopping only occassionally to happily sigh, "AAAHHHHH..."~ I had my camera handy and captured these pictures. They make me laugh just looking at them! I used Sketchy Thursdays 7.28.11 to complete this layout~
