(Kelly) "Very Lovely" SLS 7.28

Here is a layout I made last night, for Sassy Lil' Sketches 7.28.11 sketch. I'm pretty amazed, I used the color purple, a color I almost never use!! I love these photos of Lilah making goofy faces, she can be so funny when I get my camera out!

(Erin) "My B-Day Monster" Creative Scrappers #166

You really can't have too many pictures of your baby's first birthday and his cake face. Gunner looks like such a little monster in this picture that I couldn't resist using Jillibean Soup's "Monster Stew" collection to put this page together. Creative Scrappers sketch #166.

(Erin) "Teach" Once Upon A...Sketch~ July 15th

I've been trying to figure out what to do for the July 15th sketch over at Once Upon A...Sketch. The journaling prompt was to use a quote and when I found this one today by Angela Schwindt stuffed in with all my paper scraps, I thought it fit just perfectly. It reads: "While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about." (Love it!)~
I used and layered lots of rub-ons on this page and I think the result is quite nice! (I always forget about rub-ons!). Thanks for taking a look!

Good morning, everyone! I'm getting ready for work, so I gotta make this quick. I just wanted to share with you the Sketch Along Tuesdays sketch reveal over at Frosted Designs and our projects for this week! I must say, Karin made a fantastic sketch for us to play with. Please head over and see what the other wonderful designers created! Here is the sketch:

(Erin) "That's For Sure!" The Scrappiest #129

I used sketch #129 over at The Scrappiest to complete this layout about what I know for sure at this point in life. The journaling reads as follows: I am forever indebted to God for giving me children! * My husband is sexy! * I am fortunate to have Kelly as my sister! * I miss my Mom and wish things were different. * I will never look at a roof quite the same ever again!!! * I know now why Mom always said, "Never say never." * Being a mom is tough- but so rewarding!! * I've learned that God always answers prayers, but not always with a "yes". *

Club CK Gallery Highlights Double Trouble!

We were excited to see that we both had layouts chosen for this week's gallery highlights over at Club CK! Kelly's "You Are..." page and Erin's "11 Months" page were the two chosen. See them here.

(Erin) "8 Mos." Kraft it Up!/Page Maps

I used this great Page Maps sketch to create my Kraft it Up! challenge layout. I've been looking for a good way to use this sketch and the challenge over at Kraft it Up! was to take their inspiration photo to create a layout using kraft. I love how the turquoise and baby pink lend the perfect color combination for this pregnancy page!

(Kelly) "Water Baby" Sketchy Thursdays sketch

What a tough sketch they had this week at Sketchy Thursdays! This one was a challenge, for sure! I love these photos of Lilah, it was her very first time in the lake, she absolutely loved it!

(Erin) "One" Sketchy Thursdays 7.21.11

Another birthday page for my little Gunner. I thought this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch worked well for including a small variety of pictures from his big day~ eating birthday supper, opening his presents, eating cake, and one of him just being his adorable little self. Though this sketch was a struggle for me in the very beginning, I love the results. Paint/mist/stamping/layering/stitching~ all of my favorite elements are wrapped up in this page.

(Kelly) "I Love You To The Moon And Back"

I used this wonderful sketch designed by Debbie Burns for the July sketch challenge over at Artful Delight. (If you've never been there, check them out, there kits look fantastic, and there are lots of inspiring projects to see!) I had a lot of fun making this one. The photo really doesn't do it justice, but for the "moon" in behind the photo I cut a circle, painted white circles, stamped with some silver shimmer paint and white paint using a circular scrap of felt. Then I outlined using Glossy accents glue, and drew more random circles with the glue. After it dried I just outlined the moon with blue pen, then used a tiny bit of black ink around the edges to help it stand out. I also then attached it to a chipboard circle for more dimension. I loved all of this OA Rocket Age paper, but had no idea what to do with it until now!

(Kelly) "Some things I know for sure"

This was a fun layout inspired by a challenge over at ClubCK, a series called "Book of Me." I really loved this prompt, and love what I came up with. This is also my layout for Frosted Design's Fabulous Friday challenge to use buttons on a layout.

(Kelly) "You are..."

I went WAY out of my comfort zone for this one, lots of paint, misting, and messiness! I used an awesome Creative Scrappers sketch (#165). I also am using this for a challenge over at ClubCK to use tape on a layout. (Issue Challenge #3 July/August..find the challenge details here). And as a personal challenge to myself, I am trying to use up photos I have already printed...meaning older photos that I just haven't scrapped. Most of them are random shots that I couldn't come up with ideas for.

(Erin) "Childhood" Scrap Jacked July Entry

I love scraplift challenges so I was very excited to discover Scrap Jacked! The challenge was to choose one of their designers' pages to lift, and I chose Lisa's. I love how well this Basic Grey paper matches the surroundings in this beautiful photo of my older son Wyatt. After tearing the edges off of the floral paper, I used a couple of the scrap strips, rolled, twisted, & inked them, and then intertwined them with a thin strip of lace to create the "trim" below my photo. Love how this turned out!

(Erin) "Simple Things" Page Maps entry

One of my son Wyatt's favorite things to do this year is going to the gravel pit to throw rocks into the water. I love how at his age, the simple things make him so happy...

(Kelly) "It's fun being 1!" The Scrappiest

My sweet little nephew, on his first birthday! Don't you just wanna kiss his cute little face?!? The Scrappiest sketch #129.

(Erin) "Balloon Play!" Get Picky Sketch Challenge #10

I really loved the Get Picky sketch #10 and when sorting through my pictures, I thought these of my older son Wyatt and his cousin Bear just seemed to fit. Kelly actually took these pictures of the kids playing with the balloon at Gunner's first birthday party and I'm so glad she did~ being busy with making sure my little guy's big day went smoothly, I feel like I missed out on a lot of the little things~ like how much fun it is to play with something as simple as a balloon, no matter whose party it is!

(Kelly) "You are Amazing" ST 7.14 sketch

I made this layout in honor of my sister, Erin, because she is the strongest woman I know. We all tend to kind of forget she is pregnant at times, because she is so active and strong. She never stops moving, working, cleaning, cooking, etc. We made the hike up to Devil's Kettle last weekend, it's only about a 1 mile hike, but there are tons of hills and a spot with 120 or so steps. It's a tough hike even if you are not pregnant! Erin hardly complained, and kept up with the rest of us just fine...she really is an amazing woman! I used Sketchy Thursdays sketch 7.14.11.

(Erin) "Birthday Face" Once Upon a...Sketch 7.1

I found another great sketch blog, Once Upon a...Sketch. Their July 1st sketch is great! It worked so well for this photo of my little Gunner on his recently celebrated 1st birthday, covered in cake just as a baby should be on his big day. In addition to following the sketch, we were challenged to name the subject in the photo, include 1 fact about them, and the journaling had to be at least two sentences long.

(Erin) "My Baby Love" Sketchy Thursdays 7.14

Kelly took this great picture of me and Gunner at the lake this last week during her visit and I wanted to scrap it right away~ however, I have done very little scrapbooking in the last week so getting this one done was quite tough. Not sure I love how it turned out but I wanted to keep it somewhat simple so the focus was on the photo. I used the 7.14.11 sketch from Sketchy Thursdays~

(Erin) "2 Years" Let's Get Shabby #25

I discovered Let's Get Shabby and loved their current challenge, #25~ in celebration of their 2 year anniversary, they were featuring the number "2". They asked that we use the number "2" in our title and also to pick two things from the following list: lace, chipboard, ribbon, material/fabric, book/music page~ but you could pick ONLY two~ the others could not be used. Finally, there was an inspiration photo. Here is what I came up with:

(Erin) "Sweet Corn" Sketchabilities #50

I love what this Sketchabilities sketch did for these photos- and that I was finally able to scrap them! They're of Wyatt last summer~ they were originally cut to 4x4 w/rounded corners and never used- lost in the envelope where all of Wyatt's "to be scrapped" pictures go. But when looking for 3 photos to use for this sketch, I thought they fit perfectly!

(Erin) "Sweet Boy" Get Picky Inspiration Challenge #9/FD Fab Friday

Get Picky had a great inspiration challenge~ to use the Sex and the City 2 movie poster to inspire a layout. As you can see, the poster has same amazing colors to work with, which totally inspired the colors I used on this layout! I am also using this layout for the Frosted Designs recipe challenge to use ribbon, gems, & a charm~

(Kelly) "Perfect for Me" The Scrappiest sketch

I LOVED this sketch! And I just so happened to have printed off this fun saying that was the perfect size/shape for the left side of the sketch. To top it off, I used one of my favorite color combos, and my favorite photo ever of Jeremy and I, so I'm pretty happy with how this one came out! Sketch #127 from The Scrappiest

(Kelly) "You..Right Now"

I made this one for this weeks Sketchy Thursdays sketch, and for WWU #9 over at ScrapFIT, to use patterned paper to create an embellishment. I absolutely love the honeycomb pattern on this page, (The yellow pp is Echo Park, the blue pp is Studio Calico) for the challenge, I hand cut some of the cute little honeycomb shapes, popped them up, and also used a couple in my banner!

(Kelly) "Sisters" Creative Scrappers sketch #163

I made this one for Creative Scrappers sketch #163. I used some of Basic Grey's "Out of Print" collection, I love this line!

(Kelly) "Just Us" Sassy Lil' Sketches/1 hr. challenge

So, I did his layout for the 1 hour challenge at ClubCK, to use alpha backings for a stencil on your title, and I also used this week's Sassy Lil' Sketches sketch. This was a super fast layout, and I'm not sure why, but it doesn't really feel "complete" but i cant figure out anything to add so here it is! I love his photo taken on the 4th when we went 4-wheeling.
