(Kelly) "Happy Day" Creative Scrappers sketch #162

When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of this beautiful "quilt" like patterned paper from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe collection, and knew it would be the perfect thing to use for the diamond pattern in the sketch. I love this picture of Lilah, taken a few days ago early in the morning. She is so full of giggles and fun as I am trying to pull myself out of my sleepy stupor to get her breakfast ready! How can you have a bad day when it starts out  like this?

(Erin) "Almost One" FD Fabulous Friday

This is for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use black, white, & one other color. I chose red...really wasn't my first choice but I thought it matched Gunner's red wagon nicely :)! The journaling reads:

Only a couple weeks divide Gunner "the baby" and Gunner "the toddler"- a momentous & scary reality. I cannot believe how fast your first year has gone. You are now a little person w/a big attitude! You get yourself to where you want to go- and watch out whoever gets in your way! We love having you in our lives and cannot imagine not having you around- you are so loved, "Gunners"!!

(Kelly) "Riding in Style" Sketchy Thursdays entry

Sketchy Thursdays 6.23.11 sketch. This sketch was very challenging for me! The layout came out pretty plain and simple, but I couldn't figure out anything more to add.

(Kelly) "Swing" FD Fabulous Friday

I did this one for Fabulous Friday over at Frosted Designs, the challenge was to use black & white plus one color. I LOVE this challenge! I think that layouts made with b&w +1 always stand out so much! I knew right away I wanted to challenge myself to use a color that isn't the obvious choice for this, so i chose green! I struggled with this layout, but once it all came together I am very pleased with it!

(Erin) "Water Boy" Sketchy Thursdays 6.23.11

This is my Sketchy Thursdays 6.23.11 sketch entry. Wyatt was so excited about his day at the lake spent "swimming"~ meaning, he put his feet in the water~ although considering it's Lake Superior and very cold, that's about all the more swimming I would be doing too!

(Erin) "Grubby Giggles" Page Maps entry

This great sketch by Page Maps really helped me put these photos of Gunner together! I really love how the colors came together on this one~

(Kelly) My first ever re-purposing "tutorial!"

So last night, I was going through some of my supplies I rarely use, and I came across some Heidi Grace "punchboard" that I never use. I was trying to think of creative ways to use up some of the chipboard shapes, frames, letters, etc..so I started punching them out. Then I discovered that once all of the pieces were punched out, the remaining chipboard looked like it would make excellent masking templates!

This is what they look like. So I decided to cut the rows of hearts, squares, circles, and flowers into strips.

See where I'm going with this? Then I got out my ink pads, misters, and paint and got ready to play!

They do get pretty messy, but they clean right off with baby wipes!

I also had a few sheets of the chipboard letters, and I made a whole sheet  with spray ink and the letters here:

All together, I made 5 sheets of fun, unique patterned paper! I have already made 2 quick layouts with these.

Thanks for checking it out!

(Erin) "Lucky Boys" Sketchabilities #49/FD Fabulous Friday 6.17

I did double duty on this one~ I did the Sketchabilities sketch #49 (which I loved!) and also used this layout for the FD Fab Friday challenge to use journaling tags. Thanks for taking a look!

(Kelly) "The beach" Frosted Designs 6.14.11 sketch

I am so proud of myself, I made a 2-pager! I never do this (well, I used to..) because I usually dont like how mine turn out, but I really love this one. I was so intimidated by this sketch so I'm pretty happy with how it came out!

(Erin) "Chutes & Ladders" Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays #17

I must say, this was a really tough sketch!! I have also not done a 2-pager in quite a while so I almost didn't do this~ but I really needed to do a 2 page layout and felt I needed the challenge, so this is what I ended up with!

(Kelly) "Today, you are one!" Sketchy Thursdays sketch, Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday entry

I cant believe my little Lilah is one, already! And I also can't believe this is the only decent picture I took of her on her actual birthday! I took so many at her party, but that was a few days before her actual birthday. I'm multi-tasking on this one, the sketch is ST 6.16.11, and I'm also using this for the Fabulous Friday challenge for this week at Frosted Designs, use journaling tags/cards on your project.

(Erin) "I Don't Know What I'm Yelling About!" Sketchy Thursdays 6.16.11

I've been trying to find the right way to do a layout of these pictures and this sketch really seemed to fit the part! Gunner is famous for screaming for no apparent reason whenever he gets in his high chair, so one day I just decided to capture the moment on camera~ which is not easy as he moves around so much when he's throwing his fits!

(Erin) "Cute." Frosted Designs Fab Friday/Creative Scrappers #160

This page is for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use stitching on a layout. I used the Creative Scrappers sketch #160, which I thought worked perfectly for this photo of my nephew River, which I just love! Only one word comes to mind when I look at this little guy's face and that is "cute."

(Kelly) Cake for One! Sassy Lil Sketches 6.14 entry

I'm having so much fun with Lilah's Birthday photos! I love this one I made for Sassy lil' sketches, and also for a weekly challenge at ClubCK, to mimic an item in your photo with an embellishment. I actually did some misting on this one, something I never do, mostly because I'm scared of anything too messy or that I don't have complete "control" over. But in this case, I think it's really subtle, and I covered most of it up, anyways! I also used stamps, which I rarely do!

(Kelly) "Enjoy (this moment)" Fabulous Friday FD

I did this one for Frosted Designs' Fabulous Friday challenge for 6.10: Use stitching on a layout.  Photo taken this past weekend when we spent the afternoon in Canal Park on Lake Superior. Lilah was able to explore the rocks and water for the first time!

(Erin) "One" Sketchy Thursdays 6.9.11 entry

Okay, so this was in no way planned and perhaps Kelly and I should have talked...just got on here this morning and I see that Kelly used some very familiar photos for her Sketchy Thursdays entry this week!! But I think you can definitely see our individual styles even with using similar photos and the same sketch. I stuck really close to the sketch since I liked it the way it was and it really allows the photos to be the center of attention!

(Kelly) Birthday Beauty Sketchy Thursdays 6.9.11

This weekend was my daughter (Lilah's) 1st birthday party! We took so many wonderful photos that I am a little intimidated by all of them, I haven't really done a birthday layout before. So here is the first one (of many, I am sure) I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch 6.9.11. I tried to stick close to it, but I strayed quite a bit. I like the end result, though! I really tried to keep the focus on the photos in this one, since these are a few of my favorites of the Birthday Girl!

(Kelly) "Puppy Love" Scrap that Baby Prompt 30

I did this one for Scrap that Baby prompt #30, Favorite toy. I have had this on my desk, waiting to be finished for over a week! I'm still not really pleased with it, but it's done. I love the pink/yellow/blue colors, but I struggled with the grid design and how to embellish it. I gave up and added buttons!

(Erin) "Innocent?"- Creative Scrappers #159 entry

This sketch was tough for me at first...but a little time and creativity resulted in a layout I just love!! I stitched fabric (yellow) through the center border strip~ tough to do but loved the texture it gave! I also used machine stitching, paint, and spray ink on this layout and I'm surprised at how much just a few handmade things can really add to a layout that boasts few "actual" scrapbook supplies! Thanks for taking a look~

(Erin) "Oh Blankie"- Scrap That Baby! Prompt 30: Favorite Toy entry

The one constant companion that my older son Wyatt has had since a baby is his blankie. Even now at 3 1/2 years old, he always has to have it and include it in his every day play! For how much I have to wash the thing, it's amazing it's still intact~ I thought this would be a great idea for the Scrap That Baby! Prompt 30: Favorite Toy challenge...
